I teach both the Scruggs finger picking style and the Clawhammer or Frailing style.

TENOR BANJO

I teach both the Dixieland chord melody style and Irish single note style of playing. I am fine teaching in the CGDA or GDAE tunings.

Tenor Banjo

MANDOLIN

I teach Bluegrass, Italian and Swing styles of mandolin playing.

MANDOLA

I also teach mandola, which is tuned the same as a tenor banjo- CGDA.

I teach both Hawaiian and Swing style ukulele playing. I am particularly adept at the chord-melody style playing.

Most of my students use the standard GCEA tuning, but I can also teach in the CGDA tuning for mandolin, violin, viola and mandola players.

I teach standard guitar in the EADGBE tuning.

I also teach tenor guitar in the CGDA or GDAE tunings.

CONCERTINA

I teach the 30 Button Anglo/Irish Concertina. It is often used in Irish and Italian folk music and is a staple of sea chanty music.

BAGPIPES

I teach highland bagpipes, border bagpipes and Scottish small pipes. I start students off with the practice chanter and when they have mastered it they graduate to one of the full bagpipes.
